Also nearby are the Coastal Discovery Museum and Harbour Town, which hosts an annual PGA Tour event and has one of the world’s most photographed lighthouses.

 

While the Disney Imagineers were transforming Longview Island into Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, a mischievous Golden Retriever puppy appeared at the construction site. Though she was Pet Lodging Nearby, always where she shouldn’t be, the puppy won the hearts of the Imagineers, who adopted her and gave her the name Shadow: wherever you go, she’s right there behind you. She has served as the Resort’s mascot ever since. there are local kennels that offer comfortable lodging for your 4-legged family members, since the Resort has a no Guest-pet policy.
